With oil moving beyond $143 per barrel this morning and gas over $5 a gallon in Cali, Ford is proactively fighting back.

Ford’s US head honcho, Mark Fields explained, “Choice is what makes America great and American cars great. Our new hybrid Mustang is a return not only to the great American tradition of freedom — freedom from high gas prices — but a living symbol of our dedication to green solutions and bold, innovative thinking.” Mr. Fields had no comment when asked about steadily rising grain prices and how that will effect operating costs of Ford’s new pony car, though he did indicate that the consumer could “choose” a mule over a horse. Oh fine, you caught us. The picture above is some sort of Roush Engineering built, horse-training contraption. That’s right, them NASCAR good ol’ boys chopped up an F-150 to train horses with. We’re almost as sorry as Roush should be.
